Challenge
Within the framework of qualitative research, the development of various support mechanisms for parents of children with disabilities was identified as a significant need.
Solution
In the direction of women’s empowerment, the project “Health Camp Hope 2025” presented by NNLE “Hope – Movement of Displaced Women for Peace” envisioned organizing a health camp for socially disadvantaged local children and children forcibly displaced from Abkhazia and their mothers living in Zugdidi Municipality. For the purpose of conducting magnetotherapy courses for children, providing rehabilitation and health services, and psycho-social support for parents, 8 children forcibly displaced from Abkhazia and 2 local children aged 3 to 7 years, frequently ill (vitamin D-3 deficiency, rickets, scoliosis, musculoskeletal system disorders) living in Zugdidi Municipality, including those living near the dividing line, were selected. For this purpose, a 9-day health and rehabilitation camp was established in the town of Ureki, in a family-type hotel. A total of 20 beneficiaries participated in the camp: socially vulnerable, frequently ill children (10) and their mothers (10).
