The National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia held a working meeting with regional civil society organizations working on gender equality and women’s empowerment issues in the Kakheti region.
The meeting was organized within the framework of the project “Women’s Leadership for Democracy in Georgia,” which was facilitated by UN Women representative and project analyst Marika Jobava.
NALAG’s leading consultant Tamar Prangishvili introduced the National Association of Local Authorities’ mandate to the meeting participants and spoke about the importance of civil sector participation in implementing the “European Charter for Equality of Women and Men in Local Life.”
A discussion was held within the framework of the meeting, where representatives of regional organizations spoke about challenges related to their activities.
Participants also presented their own recommendations.
The working meeting, which was organized in Telavi Municipality, was organized through collaboration between NALAG and UN Women, within the framework of the project “Women’s Leadership for Democracy in Georgia,” which is funded by the Government of Norway and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
