The Executive Board of the National Association of Local Authorities of Georgia has adopted a decision regarding the sexual harassment prevention and response mechanism within the association.
The purpose of the document is to promote the creation of an environment free from sexual harassment and discrimination at NALAG, to implement swift and effective response to incidents of sexual harassment, and to impose proportional, adequate, and appropriate accountability on perpetrators.
The Executive Board members also elected the chairperson of the complaints review committee during the meeting. NALAG Vice-President, Mayor of Dusheti Municipality – Manana (Matsatso) Narimanidze was unanimously nominated for this position.
The document’s scope extends to both NALAG staff members and Executive Board members.
This mechanism was developed within the framework of the project “Women’s Leadership for Democracy in Georgia,” which NALAG implements with the support of UN Women, the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, and the Government of Norway.
