Women living in Khelvachauri municipality often face social and economic barriers. While most women want to implement their own business ideas, the lack of financial resources or difficult access to loans significantly limits this opportunity. Rural women, in particular, experience limited employment opportunities, which leads to their economic dependence.

For these reasons, it is particularly important for women to have the opportunity to realize their business ideas from home, allowing them to balance professional development with family responsibilities.

Solution

The circumstances that women in Khelvachauri municipality pointed out became the foundation for initiating the women’s economic empowerment program.

The program starts from 2023 and is entirely focused on supporting rural women who are in the initial stages of entrepreneurial activity. Grant funding enables them to improve their economic conditions, develop their own business ideas, and establish themselves in the local market. This promotes their professional and entrepreneurial activities, supports local employment, and increases the number of women entrepreneurs in the municipality. The funding amount per beneficiary ranges from 500 to a maximum of 4,500 GEL, with a 20% contribution required from the applicant. It is mandatory that the beneficiary be registered in Khelvachauri and own the business within Khelvachauri territory.
